The Cerro de la Testa (de la Testa hill) is a promontory located close to Cabo de Gata, featuring ruins on its peak corresponding to the de la Testa Tower, a surveillance site built in 1593 which was destroyed in 1658 due to an earthquake. In 1769 a new tower was built but the lack of maintenance turned in into ruins.
