Andalucía, a land of cinema
The Barceló Cabo de Gata **** hotel is located in the andalusian enclave that connects the Cabo de Gata bay with the city of Almería.

The hotel allows you to enjoy spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by a dreamlike landscape formed by the deserts and unspoiled beaches of this region of southern Spain.

Cabo de Gata stands out for its tropical climate, being the Spanish region that has more hours of sun, something that guarantees a bright and radiant wedding. The environment offers a magnificent combination between the wild landscapes that suppose their crystalline beaches and their mountains, and the Muslim and Roman vestiges that predominate in the place.

Almería is a land of cinema, where directors like Sergio Leone or Ennio Morricone filmed many Hollywood westerns taking advantage of their desert landscapes. The wedding guests can discover this exciting environment in the days before or after the wedding.

The secrets of Andalucia
Cabo de Gata Natural Park

One of Andalusia’s gems, the Cabo de Gata Natural Park – Níjar offers 50 kilometres of cliff-lined coast, idyllic natural beaches and a tremendous geological variety due to the area’s volcanism. The sea ecosystem is an additional highlight that makes diving in these warm waters an unforgettable feeling.

Cerro de la Testa

The Cerro de la Testa (de la Testa hill) is a promontory located close to Cabo de Gata, featuring ruins on its peak corresponding to the de la Testa Tower, a surveillance site built in 1593 which was destroyed in 1658 due to an earthquake. In 1769 a new tower was built but the lack of maintenance turned in into ruins.

Almería city

Almería is located in Andalusia’s east end, within the Gulf of Almería. The main attractions for the visitor are its beaches and the important cultural and artistic heritage. The Alcazaba, ancient Arab fortress, the Jairán Wall or the Encarnación cathedral are a must.

Arrangements and documentation needed for your wedding

Spain is not a country that makes it difficult to get married, although it is always recommended to have all IDs (passport or national identity card for European Union citizens) and to consider all necessary proceedings to hold a legal ceremony in the country.
